photokina and PIV give Start-ups a head start
Following a successful first edition in 2017, the Photo Industry Association invites national and international founders to apply for round two. The second PIV Start-up Day takes place at photokina in Cologne on September 27th.
"We support the Imaging Lab as a partner because it is important to ease the path of young companies into our industry“, explains Rainer Führes, chairman of the board of Photo Industry Association, industry sponsor of photokina. "photokina is our most important communication and business platform, and offers the unique chance to demonstrate our capacity for innovation as an entire industry. In this way we hope in future to be perceived even more strongly by other industry branches as a potential and potent partner."
Eligible for application are Start-ups from the following areas: Photo & Video Hardware, Digital and Mobile Imaging, Apps, Software, Cloud services, AR / VR / Mixed Reality or Print and display solutions. Finalists will pitch their ideas on the IMAGING LAB stage. The best presentation wins a free-of-cost exhibition space at photokina 2019.

Winners 2017 @ photokina 2018
At the first edition of PIV Start Day, the German Startup S O NAH convinced the jury and secured their free-of-cost exhibition space at photokina. S O NAH has found a way to solve the parking problem: They integrate smart sensors into any given infrastructure, office, home or product to run their machine learning algorithms on.
