  Light Painting photoBOX programme

Lightpainting photoBOX

The Lightpainting photoBOX were prominently presented on the Boulevard of photokina. Eye-catching from the outside in matt black, it protruded upwards towards the ceiling like a monument. This have attracted the curiosity of the visitors as to what it conceals inside.
On entering the cube measuring three by four metres, the visitor walked into another world. Day becomes night, night becomes a canvas and light becomes colours. Light art has turned into a tangible experience here. Using time exposure, various light artists conjure up lightpaintings in the black box. Using the live composite technique, the spectators could co-experience the genesis of a lightpainting live or even become part of a piece of light art themselves.

As an installation, the photoBox is mysteriously closed, but in contrast its programme on the inside is all the more open: it is presented and even recorded by Bernhard Rauscher, alias Lumenman, himself. Rauscher and various national and international light artists offer a highly-attractive lightpainting programme throughout the entire duration of the trade fair. In some cases, the visitors can also download photos they have co-designed themselves free of charge.

The photoBOX were an inititative and creative satellite of the phoLAC (Photokina Light Art Congress), which had tooked place in the adjacent congress centre on Friday and Saturday. Here, interested visitors could take this unique opportunity to delve deeper into the subject of lightpainting. Vice versa, the Lightpainting photoBOX have profited from the presence of some of the most famous light artists in the world for a unique programme.
