Exhibition: A Retrospective – “A Pristine Vision”
Photo show with award ceremony for the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC DEUTSCHLAND “Photographer of the Year” competition
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC DEUTSCHLAND presents an impressive display of work by the nature photographer Jim Brandenburg. The exhibition “A Pristine Vision” is showing around 70 pieces of work, including many large-format photos: images of wolves, pictures of Minnesota and other regions in the USA, forgotten lakes and woods in Europe, Africa and Asia.
In a presentation of photos on 23 September, the photographer, who has travelled around the globe for NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC for over three decades, is showing some of his impressive wildlife and nature photography personally. NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC DEUTSCHLAND is also taking this occasion to award the winner of the “Photographer of the Year” competition.
Background information: Jim Brandenburg is one of the greatest nature photographers of today. His landscape and wildlife photos are works of art: time and time again, he manages to capture the perfect moment – one which makes a photo a timeless metaphor. Jim Brandenburg started his career at the end of the 1960s at a daily newspaper in Minnesota. Today, he has received numerous awards for his work. He has been the photographer for 23 reportages for NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC alone, many of which have been published as books. The publications about wolves, in particular, have gained international acclaim and substantiate his legendary reputation as a nature photographer. Ever since “A Pristine Vision” had its premiere in 2011 in Stadtmuseum Schleswig, Jim Brandenburg has been on a world tour of the celebrated retrospective.
